Our Mission
The Comprehensive Arts Institute is dedicated to teaching performance arts to youth to develop personal discipline and pride, successful collaboration, and exemplary performance by cultivating the next generation and developing youth with active and creative minds with an understanding and appreciation for the music arts. We stress the total development of every student: creatively, spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.
About The Comprehensive Arts Institute
The Comprehensive Arts Institute (CAI) is about Music Education for all. Founders James and Angela Ward, have a passion for educating in the area of music for the intention of changing lives. Their work as composers, performers, and educators has spanned more than three decades. They have facilitated Music Education workshops at Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, The Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, Satchel Paige Elementary School, Center High School, and are currently partnering with Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council as Artists in Residency. Under the umbrella of "Sustaining African American Heritage through Music", the CAI hosts Music Workshop "Show & Shed", After School Music Lessons, and Music Summer Camps all funded by the Missouri Arts Council.
